OLD-time

I fell in love with music as a child and fell in love with playing music as an adult. I was introduced to Old-Time by a lifelong friend who had started to play banjo. A few years later I was organizing concerts and workshops in Vancouver before founding the East Vancouver Oldtime Social with friends from the community.
I started on the guitar, singing and learning how to play rhythm properly. I quickly realized my love for melody and decided to pick up the fiddle at 29. I love to sing old gospel and country songs, mostly about animals, heartbreak and drinking. I also call Square Dances when the time is right. I've had a lot of influence from many fiddlers, dancers, callers, and organizers over the years and I can't thank the community enough for bringing this music and community into my life.

Co-founded the East Vancouver Old-Time Social, an Old-Time music festival hosted in East Vancouver that celebrates traditional music through song and dance. The festival ran for three consecutive years on a volunteer basis and focused on providing an inclusive, affordable, community driven weekend for people of all ages and demographics to celebrate a weekend of comradery through music.
